The establishment of the new Richmond water treatment plant required integration into the existing landscape, with current surroundings consisting of rural entities, screening of the water treatment plant was integral to the project as was care around an extensive infrastructure system.

The site design combines large bunds, specific species were planted to accommodate to ecological plantings from the neighbouring Waimea estuary, just metres north of the site. In addition, plants that would be sympathetic to the rural character were implemented on the surrounding margins.

Project scope: Concept design including rain gardens, Construction documentation including Specification, Scheduling, Engineering input and liaison, management of on-site works.
